Sustainability & Materials
Our Approach
At Benibeca, sustainability is not a statement — it is embedded in how we create.
We believe in a slower, more intentional way of producing, where design, materials and craftsmanship are aligned to create pieces with meaning, not excess.
Our collections are built to exist beyond seasons — evolving with time rather than being replaced by it.
Natural & Responsible Materials
Benibeca works with a wide range of natural and responsibly developed fabrics, selected for their quality, origin and performance.
Across our collections, we use:
- Premium natural organic fibers such as linen, cotton and alpaca
- Plant-based fabrics such as lyocell, developed in low-impact systems
- Recycled materials in technical pieces such as swimwear
Many of our fabrics are custom-developed exclusively for Benibeca, ensuring control over quality, texture and identity.
These materials are chosen not only for how they look, but for how they feel, breathe and evolve with the body.
The Nature of Real Fabrics
We work primarily with natural fibers.
This means our garments are not static — they are alive in a material sense.
Over time, they may:
- Soften
- Adapt to the body
- Develop subtle variations in texture and tone
This is not a flaw.
It is the natural evolution of authentic materials, and part of their beauty.
Unlike synthetic fabrics that remain unchanged but lifeless, natural fibers respond to movement, environment and wear.
Craftsmanship & Production
At Benibeca, how something is made matters as much as what it is made of.
Our production operates in two main ecosystems:
- Handcrafted collections in Peru, developed with artisans using traditional techniques and rare fibers
- Our own factory in Vietnam, where we produce core collections with full control and direct supervision
Our factory is not outsourced production.
It is a controlled, human-scale environment where:
- A small team works under safe and respectful conditions
- Production is closely supervised
- Quality is prioritized over volume
This structure allows us to combine craftsmanship, consistency and responsibility.
Human-Centered Production
Our factory is built around people.
A small team — primarily women — forms the core of our production.
We work with:
- Fair working conditions
- Regulated schedules
- Safe environments
- Long-term relationships
For us, sustainability is also social — it is about creating value for the people behind the product.
Quality & Finishing
Benibeca garments are defined by high-level construction and finishing, often closer to couture standards than industrial production.
Across our collections:
- Seams and internal construction are carefully executed
- Many pieces feature hand-finished techniques
- Fabrics are selected for their structure, drape and tactile quality
The focus is not only on durability, but on how the garment feels, ages and evolves over time.
Timeless Design Philosophy
We design with longevity in mind.
Our collections are created to:
- Be worn across multiple seasons
- Combine easily with other pieces
- Maintain relevance beyond trends
This reduces overproduction, overconsumption and unnecessary waste.
Packaging & Distribution
We aim to minimize environmental impact across logistics and packaging.
- We avoid the use of plastic packaging whenever possible
- Materials are selected to protect the product while reducing waste
- Logistics are optimized to reduce unnecessary shipments
Our goal is to balance responsibility with a premium delivery experience.
A Continuous Process
Sustainability is not a fixed achievement.
It is a continuous process of improvement, learning and refinement.
As Benibeca grows, we remain committed to making better decisions — in materials, production and partnerships.
